About Us

We are a small family owned and operated fishing company, with small longline boats fishing the North East Coast of New Zealand.

Ensuring our own boats had constant supply of top-quality New Zealand caught bait was the reason behind starting Wild Fish Seafoods.

In 2023 we purchased a small but unique Processing Vessel from Australia and journeyed it back to New Zealand.

Fish are pre-rigor, individually quick frozen to lock in superior quality but also minimize unnecessary distress or suffering, a standard we are proud to uphold. Our vessel is registered by Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) with a Regulated Control Scheme (RCS) as a Limited Processing Vessel to ensure all fish have edible grade status.

Our approach is simple: package, distribute and sell. By cutting out the middlemen, we want to ensure commercial fishers, recreational anglers, and customers all get quality, sustainably caught fish at a reasonable price.

We have a dedication to quality, sustainability and care that feels almost old-fashioned. Every bag and box of fish is hand-graded and packed by our local staff who share our company's values and vision.
